Santorini Buses

On the island of Santorini buses are plentiful there is a very good local bus network. Known as KTEL the company has a fleet of over 20 buses that connects all but the most remote parts Santorini.

There is also private buses that can be booked in advanced.

Picks you up from the airport and drops you at your hotel with a return picking you up from your hotel saving your self a lot of trouble.

One of the best we have found is run by Holiday Taxis cost more than the public but well worth it when arriving and leaving.

KTEL

The public bus terminal is in Fira the capital just next to the Hospital.

All of the public buses are very good and are air conditioned but be aware many of the public buses look like tour buses so be careful not to get confused and miss your bus.

All buses except two routes (Kamari to Athinios Port and Perissa to Athinios Port) start and end their journey from this central bus terminal is in Fira, so to travel from one side of the island to the other requires you to change buses at Fira.

santorini buses termial

In the summer buses meet the ferries and go to Fira, Kamari or Perissa again for other places need to chance at Fira.

These buses do get packed in the summer so you will need to get off the boat quickly to get on the bus.

In the mid high season express buses run from Fira to Perissa and Perivous to get you there quickly.

These buses although advertised are often cancelled without warning.

Some of the routes operate late into the night some as late as 3 AM but check first  as things can change day to day or week to week.
